Literary Life, Cold Coffee

I laughed when I first saw this cartoon by Posy Simmonds (oh, how I laughed...). And then I went right back to staring out the window, mug of cold coffee in hand.

It's also very much like writing a thesis... :-/

Oh yes, yes indeed... I feel the need for another coffee/walk in the garden/glass of wine just thinking about it!

Hi, Kate! The cartoon is so funny, and I know exactly how he feels - in another sense: That's the way I felt about figuring out Grace's relation to Ursula! As soon as I finished "The House at Riverton", I started figuring out what it was. I believe Ursula was Grace's great-great-1/2 niece. Am I correct on that? This was such a great read! I read "The Distant Hours" in two days, and this one in three! I've just completed "...Riverton" this morning and am starting on "The Forgotten Garden" this afternoon. I can't wait to get your new one! I've become such a fan of yours - the stories take me away into a different time, and I love them! Keep up the great work!

Take care,

Mary
