Pictured are: the beautiful National Trust property, Trerice, near Newquay, within its glorious summer garden; the astonishingly picturesque village of Portloe on the Roseland Peninsula, with its wild and cliff-lined cove; and, the still, sulky lake in the grounds of The Lost Gardens of Heligan.

The Edevane family’s country house Loeanneth is pronounced Low-Anneth.

The Lake House was partly inspired by a news story about a real life abandoned apartment in Paris, locked and left during the Second World War.
